    Hi

I have been looking for a luminous/dewy foundation that is long wearing with med to full coverage..............am not looking for much:D

From reading reviews etc the following three seems to be the best:

    Lancôme taint miracle
    Chanel perfection lumiere
    Giorgio Armani lasting silk foundation

I am just wondering what are people's experiences of these foundations or any others that you think should be in the top three?

    Thanks a mil

    M

I really like YSL touch éclat myself and fits description but people do rave about the Armani one!

I use Artdeco Rich Treatment Foundation and find the coverage great plus it is long wearing.

Thanks so much for those recommendations, I will look them up :-)

Do not buy Chanel Perfection Lumiere. I find it dries very matt and turns powdery on my skin and really dries it out. I used to always use Chanel Pro Lumiere which gave my skin the most gorgeous glow but they discontinued it and replaced it with perfection lumiere which is more matt than Chanels Matt lumiere!! I currently use Nars Sheer Glow which has medium to full coverage and a nice glow to the skin. Armani luminous silk is good too, it has slightly less coverage than Nars.

I have tried the Armani luminous silk foundation and it sets to a matte finish.

It looks powdery and heavy on the skin and just isn't a nice foundation especially as it is almost 50e.

Much nicer and cheaper foundations out there. Lancome and Clinique foundations are good.

Forgot to say earlier that the Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation is supposedly a high street dupe for the discontinued Chanel Pro Lumiere.

Id second the Bourgouis Healthy Mix and can usually get it 3 for 2 in boots if you keep a look out.

I'm another one for Nars Sheer Glow! Absolutely love it and fits your description I think.

    Always get a sample!

Even if it looks like the greatest of all foundations when you try it in store it could break you out when worn for a few days, it could dry your skin out, it could be great when applied but has no lasting power whatsoever and any number of thing things that might be deal breakers that aren't immediately obvious. Most sales assistants are happy to oblige when asked for a sample and it saves you a fortune in trial and error, or just settling for a foundation that isn't quite right for you.

    Do Nars do samples?

    Urban decay! It's amazing.

I think you need to bring in an empty pot and they will put foundation into it for you.

Just thought of Bobbi Brown foundations, they are good, pricey though.

The luminous moisturising foundation is good and the skin foundation is good.

They are light coverage but could be built up to medium coverage.

Urban Decay's Setting Spray is a godsend when it comes to achieving a dewy sort of look when setting.

I got a sample from Nars before and they had their own pots. No harm brining your own just incase as they could be out. I think boots do little pots that are about the right size and are fairly cheap.

For me that was a perfect example of why you should always get a sample. The attendant put the sheer glow foundation on my face and I loved it, was ready to buy there and then but they were out of my colour. So she gave me a sample anyway to do me for a few days till they restocked. Turned out I hated it on, after about 30 minutes it made my skin look really dry and the coverage wasn't very good. I've seen it on others tho and it looks lovely so it's very much down to my skin type. That was very nearly a total waste of about €40.

Agree with this. Lovely dewy foundation. Medium coverage I reckon. Expensive but get a sample to try it out first

    Hi
Thank you all so much for the recommendations. I have been doing more research on the foundations recommended, especially the nars one. I never even though about nars!!!

I had very bad skin in my 20's and still feel very conscious of it. My skin is quiet dry these days. I find it quiet intimidating going into places like BTs, and even though I research stuff online, when I go into the make up counters I turn into a shy fool and just take what they recommend. I am so fed up wasting money on foundations that don't say what they do on the tin!!

    Thanks again
Will let you know what I purchase and how I find it

    M

ASOS have 20% off at the moment, so the Bourjois healthy mix foundation should be around €11 or if you pay in sterling it should be around €9.

With Permanent TSB it would work out at €9.37 - they have a currency converter here which might help :)

    https://services.permanenttsb.ie/Mobile/Calculators/currencyconverter.aspx

If you go through Fat Cheese you get cashback too www.fatcheese.ie

Also www.houseoffraser.com sell the expensive brands, might work out cheaper for you.

DiorSkin Nude is a pretty, glowing foundation, but it's really more of a light-medium coverage than medium-full. Elizabeth Arden's Flawless Finish Perfectly Nude Foundation has a bit more coverage and a luminous finish, while still looking very natural. Might be worth looking at offerings from Laura Mercier or Shiseido, although I'm not so experienced with their products.

Am I one of the few that doesn't like YSL's Teint Touche Eclat? Despite having quite dry skin, I found that it went streaktastic over my nose within a couple of hours!

This is my favourite foundation ever :)

I'm not a fan either. I very nearly bought a bottle a while back when the lady in at the stand put some on me for me to try it. I loved the coverage and the colour was perfect but something in me said don't do it so I picked up a sample instead. It turned out the lady had just caked it onto my face, so much so that it never actually dried! It came off on anything that touched it for the rest of the day, even with setting powder on top of it. When I put it on myself it came out all streaky and horrible and didn't have very good coverage at all. Unless I caked it on like the lady at the stand, but I don't like leaving foundation smears on everything I touch. I may have just been applying it wrong but I decided that it's not for me.

I think Clinique Super Moisture is quite good. I haven't used it in a few years though, so I might be getting it slightly mixed up with another Clinique foundation but if I remember correctly it was quite dewy and had pretty good coverage. I have always suffered with bad skin and even though I don't have full blown acne any more, I still have breakouts and have a lot of scars and blotchiness and my skin is really dry so I am also constantly on the look out for something with good coverage but doesn't dry my skin to bits! Its near impossible! Have you had tried any of the suggested foundations? I just wanted to know how you got on?
