Signal quality loss

I live in a rented house and so far we used to get Saorview on our tv in the lounge through the aerial socket. A few days ago we got a Saorview box and plugged it in (aerial socket) upstairs in the bedroom. Everything worked fine but the tv downstairs keeps loosing signal quality but the signal strength stays the same. This also happens upstairs, sometimes the quality is 100% but it changes to 0% or 25%. Before we got the set top box (techinka t8050) everything worked fine. By the way, there is no visible aerial on the roof so I don't know where the signal is coming through. I live in kerry.

The aerial could be in the attic with the signal split there to the various TV points.

A powered amplifier at the point where the signal is split should give the signal a boost.

Or there could be no aerial at all, cables in splitter in attic or outside junction box , but ex UPC connection.

You'll need to have a look outside Or in attic.

If there is an aerial it could be pointing the wrong direction, my brother in law had his roof aerial facing towards cairn hill(set by the installer) for old analogue reception in Kildare but saorview was very patchy so he headed her to mount leinster:D He also took the opportunity to check and tighten up all the cable connection and redo the cable connection at the aerial and the signal quality improved by about 50% to 80% then he raised the aerial up about a foot on the pole and signal quality jumped to about 92-95%.
