I'm doing a interview for cholaiste Dhulaigh next week for a place in their computer science program. I will just be finished my leaving cert upon entry in September.

I'm nervous, what questions do they ask you in the interview and how should you dress.
Would jeans a shirt and vans be appropriate ?
If anyone had any advice please let me know
    Thanks

If in doubt I would dress smart eg slacks and leather shoes, shirt. You could always ring them to ask.
    I imagine they'd ask:
Tell us about you. They will want you to tell them why you'd be good for them at the college-hard worker, get involved in extracurricular activities-give examples. What good things would your teachers say about you.
What are your weaknesses-dont pick anything too bad!
Know your Junior Cert results and maybe your mocks.
Why do you want to do this course-maybe why this college AND why this course.
Where do you want to go career wise after this course/do you know what jobs this course could lead to.
    Good luck!

Their main intention will be to find out whether you really want to do the course, have an interest in the area and will stick the course out. They really don't want people taking places and then quitting half way through. At the same time, they are not expecting you to be an expert in the area.

The people interviewing you will be teachers on the courses, so they know you will be nervous and if you get 'stagestruck' so to speak, just tell them you're a bit nervous and they will try to put you at your ease. They are trying to let you show what you can do, not to catch you out.

Dress-wise, I'm afraid I don't know what 'vans' are, I suppose I'm old. Jeans, if they are not ripped and/or hanging down behind your knees would be OK, but if you had a pair of trousers or black jeans I would wear them instead. There will be people show up for interview wearing all sorts, so it's good to look like you made an effort and are taking it seriously.

    Good luck.

My jeans are brand new perfect condition, I'm getting a new plain shirt in dunnes/penny's and these are the vans I'm wearing http://www.doorsfashion.com/vans-original-classic-authentic/vans-authentic-red/
I realised last night the questions for the interview are on the colleges website so I'll practise them and hopefully I'll do well.
