    Hi everybody
Moved house recently & took my satellite with me, gonna set up soon. Was thinking about getting sky package but as you know very expensive so started looking online for options. Saw on the website donedeal get full package of sky channels for €90 per year, totally legal which made me curious that something so cheap could be legal. Rang the number & asked how is this legal? Was told its legal if you don't use any sky products but then i said are you not stealing their channels which he said no and said i have been at this 5 years and never had a problem. I am keen to go for this but worried that it might be illegal because i don't want to get arrested.
Take a look at the link below please and any info regarding the legality of this situation would be very much appreciated.
    Thank you

Not sure would you go to jail for it, but sky certainly don't allow it.

Boards dont want to leave themselves open to trouble if sky come calling.

But why would this guy advertise openly and say its legal surely he must be aware that sky would looking out for people like this. I know it can be done illegal but have never seen it been advertised openly so that makes curious.

He advertises like that so people will pay for it. Would you get it if it said "100% illegal - sky are on my trail"

Because the guy doesn't give a f**k once he's gotten your money.
If he's shut down, he'll start up again.

Certainly not, so this guy is chancing it?

Yes. He will get his card shut off and set up again with a new one. Thats if they dont go after him (sky are cracking down on this a lot recently) which means you lose service completely.

You'd be better off getting a freeview box if you want to save money.

Because there are bigger fish for Sky to fry than a small-time Donedeal enthusiast with a disposable mobile, there are bigger cardsharing businesses online making thousands and taking online payments

Ah yes but you don't get sky sports and movies in HD on a freeview box.

    Yes he is chancing it.

There are literally thousands of people who use card sharing, I do it myself. Nothing will happen to you for using that service, all the risk is with the people who provide the sharing service. If they got caught, then you would find that you could no longer view the service until they started up again or you subscribed to another person offering the service. Boards.ie is very careful about what members post about card sharing as they dont want to be involved in any potential legal proceedings. If you want to find out more, then use Google and search for "Sky tv card sharing", all the answers you seek will be there.
