I'm going to sell my car as I no longer nee it. Downsizing. :(
Wheres the best site to advertise? Previously I used carzone, but is it still the goto site? I heard donedeal might be the one? (Clearly I'll use Adverts!)

Those three are the most often mentioned sites for car advertising.

It's annoying, Adverts you can post a ton of information and pictures but you get swarmed with <snip> who want to swap your car for a iphone and a Terry's chocolate orange. It will drive you mad.

Donedeal is where you should put it.

I have been getting a little bit miffed with DoneDeal recently. Over last few months I have contacted quite a few sellers and I would say about one third have had some sort of accident that was not mentioned in the description.
Many also leave the mileage blank and this usually means it's been to the moon and back.

Asking for the "best" is like asking for the "best flavour of ice cream*", you'll get lots of various answers and disagreements depending n personal taste.
Perhaps try all three? Each has its merits and downfalls.

true enough, but you can take it to mean 'most popularly used by buyers' in this case.

    Donedeal> Carzone>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>not listing it at all>>>>adverts

    IMO

If you want to swap your car for a half drank pint, two thirds of a glass of milk and a broken toilet then list on adverts :pac:

I agree - avoid adverts.ie, too many offers of 'I will give you half your asking price in cash tonight'. There are probably as many time wasters on donedeal but most aren't brave enough to make similar offers over the phone.

Donedeal lists adds in the order in which they were placed. If you're pretty busy during the week then hold off till the weekend when you'll be free to show people the car, then you'll be near the top of the listings at the right time. It's a great site for moving something quickly if you're realistic about the price but if you think you're going to need time to allow the right person to notice the add, then carzone is probably the place to go.

Adverts is really getting a lot of (sometimes deserved) abuse over allowing those "swap my ****" people. I just ignore them but I suppose not everyone will.
I like adverts because you have a thread style discussion.
Put "no swaps" in ad and report people that can't/won't read.
You also have feedback for good buyers and sellers.

I liked the old adverts as it was more community based and less messers and swap idiots
Now you get timewasters on donedeal too, but less of them

Adverts seems to bring out the mouthbreathers

Put it up on donedeal at the right price and it could be gone in an hour.

Put it on adverts and watch the lowballers and swappers squabble for days.

Carzone has priced itself back in the game but I'd imagine donedeal has the highest users by far.
