Cracked Alloy Wheel Repair

As in the title, I have a 17 inch alloy wheel with a crack and am looking to get it repaired preferably south of Dublin out of convenience. I have been on to a crowd in Bray and they have quoted between 100-120 depending on the crack and wheel itself, which sounds pricey to me.

I would appreciate greatly if anyone could point me in the direction of anywhere cheaper.

Phoenix tyres near Croke Park are good, I got one of my alloys welded there and they were recommended to me. I think it might have been around €100 for the weld, can't remember.

Just got a quote of 50.00 from AA Alloy Wheel Repairs in Ballyfermot. That should do it.

If the crowd in Bray are Collins Engineering, I'd stick with them. They've a good rep.

    Weld cheaply, die quickly. ;)

I'v got an alloy welded for €40 and it's done a few thousand miles since.

For a €100 your quoted I'd just replace the alloy.

Depends on the cost of a new alloy which can be €500+ depending.

Wheel Wizards in Finglas charge €65 for a welding according to their website.

    That sounds competitive.

Anyway, I dropped the wheel off earlier on and will probably be picking it up tomorrow. While the crowd in Bray have a reasonable reputation, for 100-120 euro I could just purchase another rim from a breakers.
