Is it possible to get an adapter that you plug a normal 3 pin plug into and then plug the adapter into the cigarette thing in your car so I can use a turbo trainer for warmups at races (turbo trainer powered by car battery obviously). Actually, isn't the car battery just 12V so I'd need an inverter to change it to 240V? Not very electrically minded.

You charging up that hidden battery on the bike again.

Fancy fecking Chinese turbo trainers. :D

I have a turbo which requires power if you want to run the head unit. If you are just warming up for a race then you won't need the head unit. Just put the bike in the trainer and away you go. You won't be able to adjust the resistance setting on the turbo beyond whatever it is when you start off, but you can always just change gear on your bike.

Seen these in Halfords and been meaning to buy one for a while mainly for the laptop when travelling.

Ya I suppose I could just change gears alright and use my HR monitor as a guide. Probably better off this way alright. Will give it a go and see how it feels. Cheers.

Do you really need a cigarette lighter adaptor for your turbo? Could you not wait until after the session before having a fag ;)

Or maybe on of these if you insist. Don't be tempted to plug your laptop or iphone into these things, the power output can be rough (sawtooth rather than sine wave), which can wreck smaller transformers. Also be prepared to cycle home if you leave it running too long.
