Disability allowance refusal

Hi I got a letter stating I was refused Disability based on medical grounds. I intend to appeal this because I feel that they are wrong. Do I send my appeal to Longford or straight to D'Ollier House in Dublin?
I will be submitting a new letter from my GP along with a letter from my Consultant along with a personal letter explaining how my illness effects my daily life. Do I need to submit anything else?

Any advice would greatly be appreciated.

IMHO send it to the Appeals Office in D'Olier St.Is there a social worker involved? if so a letter from them would be helpfull.
Theres nothing to stop you sending the whole thing to both places at the same time by the way.

No I don't have a social worker however I do have a Consultant and I am seeing an Occupational Therapist for the first time tomorrow.

I will send appeal to both places. Hopefully they will reconsider because right now I am going out of my mind with the stress.

    Thanks for the advice.

Maybe you could talk to your medical people. They might be able to provide further details that would help your case.

Thanks they already did. Getting supporting documentation from my Consultant for free my GP did another letter and charged me for it. Hopefully it will be enough.Having a long term illness is hard enough as is but this process is enough to drive somebody to jump off a bridge. I have been so stressed out about this. I will update when I hear back with regards to appeal although I believe those are taking around 30 weeks at this time or have they sped that process up?

I feel for you Jimmy. I do hope you get a good outcome in the end.
I spoke to my consultant and she thinks the new medical evidence should be good enough. She also says my condition is one that is listed as a qualifier for disability allowance. I will just keep my fingers crossed. It is alot of stress dealing with this. I have a lot of doctors appointments, regular blood tests and other therapies which is a full time job. There is no way I could handle working anytime soon. If I got a job tomorrow I'd wouldn't last a week the state I am in now.
Good luck with your appeal Jimmy.

Are you sending your appeal to D'Olier house in Dublin? Also I read somewhere you can request an oral hearing.

Mrs Byrne here suggested I send the appeal to both Longford and Dublin. I am going to follow her advice. I am going to fight this all the way. I am not fit for work now and I wont be for the foreseeable future. I know this process is torture. I am not going to give up. I will see how the appeal goes.
