NO golf show in Ireland - Why?

Just wondering why there is no golf show in the Republic of Ireland as I cannot think of one other European Country without an annual golf show?

Is the market just too small or is there just no demand?

Good question and it never occured to me. I'd love one of them, imagine the whole RDS full of golf gear and ideas! That would be great.

They have been done before, with limited success. Ended up feeling like a Holiday Show.

Maybe other countries are similar, but it does feel like Irish golfers are a leading force in mooching around golf shops looking in great detail at expensive gear they're never going to buy.

Sad to have to agree with you on this, the last show in The RDS had a serious high percentage of kickers, who really bought nothing on the day. The main brands never really got behind them either, which always leaves a feeling of deflation for the genuine customer.

There's going to be one in Northern Ireland in September. Their website is due to launch this month. http://www.irishgolfexpo.com/

Regarding 'mooching' - I went to the London Golf Show at Earl's Court, last November, and it's no different there. People come to see what's going on, stand in queues to try out new clubs or shoes or other kit, or to win prizes and watch demonstrations. Not much money being spent and the show was lame.

The most popular thing in London was the pretty models strutting up and down a catwalk showing off the latest Royal & Awesome clothing...

... not that I was watching.
