saw a guy advertising on downloading files

    i saw a guy in florida . he advertised on downloading ultra fast for people with show broadband. and posts the files to you . surly this is illegal . but it did seem a good idea hahaha

    Linux distros are perfectly legal to download, for example.

    but there approx under 1 gb yes? im talking bout files of 10 gb etc .. plus..

    So this guy downloads files on his uberfast broadband and then POSTS the files to you? presumably on a dvd or blu-ray disc. I presume you would have to live in the same area as the guy, otherwise the time spent in the post would surely outweigh any time you save by downloading over a slow connection?

    well as i said in the top of the post i saw this in the states. and yes he said he can deliver via courier etc... same day service too .. taught it was strange .

    I've downloaded Linux distros and sent them to people. Still not sure why it would be illegal assuming the content is not illegal.

    It could be used for downloading copyrighted content but not always. I don't know why you're kicking-up a fuss about it because the overwhelming majority of people download copyrighted content at some stage of the lives. In fact, I'm uploading torrents at the moment and and usually do it 24/7.

    The guy must be taking advantage of his super-fast fiber connection to make a bit of money. I would do the same if eircom weren't a bunch of stingy *%*@#* and updated their infrastructure earlier rather than choosing money over customer satisfaction and helping Ireland keep up with the rest of Europe.

    There was someone on here a few weeks ago looking for a super-fast connection to upload 2 or 3 terabytes. That could have been an opportunity to make a bit of money by charging him to use your line.
