    Hey guys,

Just looking for some help/advice. I posted here a while ago about this topic but only got one reply so just looking for others experiences and/or recommendations. I've finally managed to save some money so need to get sorted.

I broke my two front teeth years ago in my early teens. At the time the dentist put what I think was a white filling or something to fill the gap. I've absolutely hated anything to do with dentists ever since so don't really know much about what is available to me.

Basically my two front teeth are very dark in colour and are really getting me down. I remember at the time the dentist had said I would need crowns later on. I'm happy to pay what ever needs to be paid to get it right. I'm not sure whether I would need crowns or just veneers to cover the front teeth.

I would also like to get all my teeth whitened while I'm doing it as well. Can I go to the same person/clinic for this? How long would the whole process take approximately? As in how quickly could I get it all done, would it be over a few visits/weeks/months?

Can anyone pm with some advice/recommendations or even your experiences or certain dentists.

    I'm in Dublin

Dark teeth can be for a number of reasons.

Sometimes bleaching can work, or specific inside out bleaching of specific teeth.
Crowns or veneers are and option depending on the condition of the teeth.
Most prosthodontists will do all the treatment for you as for reccomendations I will leave that to others. Reccomendations by PM only please.

Should I expect a good prosthodontist to be on that site? There's only two listings for Connaught and they're both for the same place.

They are the only two prosthodontists in connaught and both are part time. There is a guy in Limerick not on that list. Prosthodontics is a rare specialist there are only about 25 in the country.

So is a Master’s in Prosthodontics from King’s College London a different qualification?

The dentist will overtly call themselves a prosthodontist, they will usually have memberships of the prosthodontic societies in ireland and other countries, maybe even GDC registeration or american board certification. The practice will be specialised and not offer treatment outside of prosthodontics unless other specialists are there often the dentist will have a "practice limited to". Best way to find out is to ring the practice and ask are they a specaislist with a spoecialist qualification registered with the dental council.
