It's been like this for about 18 months. Generally speaking it's not a huge problem, especially with a colourful source. But it's very annoying with black and white movies. It's about time I upgraded, but I just want to know for sure where I stand with this. Can it be repaired? What exactly is it? I've read some stuff online about connecting my laptop to the TV, opening up a white page and whacking the brightness all the way up for 5 or 6 hours? It sounds plausible but I suspect my problem is bigger than that.
