Any recommened course that people have played in West Palm Beach and Naples Florida?

I'm hearing PGA National is a private course, is that correct?

Many many courses when you Google, but first hand knowledge would be good

    Thanks

We have an office in North Pam Beach and I got married in Naples, so know the area quite well.

What type of course are you looking for ? And what's your budget?

In Naples I can recommend the Greg Norman course at Ritz Carlton or either courses at Marco Polo Island, The Rookery or Hammock Bay. A little further out is The Concession.

Golf in the Palm Beach area is quite expensive, most of the courses I have played have been private members clubs so not sure if you can get out without an invite. There is a great Nicklaus course in North Palm Beach, about 10 miles up US1 from West Palm, it's called North Palm Beach Country Club and it takes visitors.

If you have others in mind I can run them past on of the local guys and get you a better educated opinion.

Interesting my brother has/is doing the exact same thing!

No set course type in mind and with regards to budget, not fussy on that either

I'll have a look at those 6 listed, we are staying in Old Naples, if that makes any difference with regards to location

I can recommend Old Corkscrew about 30 miles north of Naples.
www.oldcorkscrew.com It was used as a regional qualifying for the US PGA in 2012.

I've played Lely golf resort in Naples a few times and would recommend it .... two courses, Flamingo and Mustang. I'd go for the Flamingo but both are good. Enjoyable courses to play, very good condition when I was there. Very good deals if you're prepared to tee off in the afternoon, maybe after 3.00, depending on time of year. Buggy included in green fee.
It's worth doing a bit of research on the deals online. You may have to register for one of the tee time services to get best rates, but maybe ring the club direct to check for best rates.

I'm envious. When are you going?

I travelled to Florida last November wit a group of golfers. We were there for 2 weeks, 1 week in Port St Lucie and 1 week in Naples.
Of the courses we played the best in Port St Lucie were the Ryder and Dye courses at the PGA, (especially the Dye).
In Naples we played Lely, (Flamingo), Tiburon, (Black) and TPC Treviso. These are all excellent. The only problem with Treviso is that the clubhouse is an abandoned construction site but the course is really good with one of the best par 5s you will ever play, (12th).
There is another course about 20 miles north of Naples: Raptor Bay. It's worth the journey.
    Anyway, enjoy your trip.
