You'll need to get out and knock on a few doors. What type of rifle do you have?, this will help determine what 'service's you can offer inreturn for some hunting permissions. Promise of vermin control is a good way in.
Did you use a club or other land permissions to gain your license or are you in the process of applying for your license?

Wasting your time, as a serving member you'll be waiting 3-4 years to get in there's a waiting list. As a retired member as far as I know they don't accept ex'ers, you must be a member on discharge in order to retain your club membership. Plus its only really open to game birds and stalking so a .22 is at a loss.
If you are still serving and fancy going down the shotgun route give me a PM and I will put you in the right direction for the Defence Force Clay Pigeon Club.

Could not confirm wheather ex- PDF members could apply to the army game club but can confirm the average waiting time is 4 years and that's on the conservative side.
My advice on this one is go down the civi club route.
