M51 in Canes Venatici, taken 01/03/2014 with a 7/8 year old Atik 16 Mono, that we took as a trade in against a new Atik ccd camera.

For what is one of the very early proper ccd cameras that was mass produced, it actually turns out to be quite a good little camera (apart from a few dust spots visible in the image that must be on the cover glass)

Pic is 10 x 90s exposures, no darks, no flats, taken through a Skywatcher 80ED DS Pro on a Skywatcher HEQ5 Pro, just polar aligned.
Absolutely no processing done on it at all, bar the barest crop on 2 sides. Its exactly as it looked out of Deep Sky Stacker.

Its rare we get the weather these days, so I stayed out until it clouded, and got another pic of 46 x 60s subs of m51, plus a good few 120s subs of M109.
