    Hey guys :)
Didn't exactly know where to post this, but I thought here would be appropriate.

So basically, I'm a fifth student and I'm interested in studying Law and Business in college. I know that Trinity, UCD and NUIM offer these courses but which is the best.

At the moment I'm looking mostly at UCD or Trinity, and I'm leaning more towards UCD.

Has anyone got any knowledge/advise about these course.

    Thanks for your help :)

Both are fine and it wont make much difference which one you choose, just get at least a 2:1 and you'll be fine.

What you could be spending more time on than choosing between those two (go with UCD if youre leaning that way and dont look back) is focussing on what extra curriculars do well with law. Start getting ahead of the competition now and you'll be in a great position when you need it in 6 years.

Both courses are excellent courses with very good lecturers in both colleges. I suppose TCD is handy as a city centre location and has a more campus feeling top it than UCD. The poster who suggests getting at least a 2.1 is absolutely correct. If going down the solicitor path the degree is well recognised and many graduates make the top 5 in Dublin or even to the big firms in the City of London

Just to be clear though, its not essential to get a 2:1 to get into the top 5 or elsewhere, but it certainly helps.

I would go with UCD. I have heard a few people say the TCD lacks cohesion. Its literally a business degree and a law degree. Where as the UCD one is more interlinked. Im in TCD and the business school is the Arts block and the building is fairly horrible. You spend as little time as a possible in it as its so dull. But the Quinn business is bright and airy. It has a coffee shop( TCD has one, but I never see anyone actually getting coffee).

UCD run summer day courses at the start of June for students about to go into 6th year to get a feel for a particular area and what it'd be like to be a student in that course. They have a law one and a business one, they're quite cheap and probably worth it! -more information here https://myucd.ucd.ie/summer-school/index.ezc

I know a friend that studied it at NUIM and he loved it, couldn't speak highly enough of it. Go for Maynooth, lets just say you won't be distracted from the craic and ceol that is bound to occur in Dublin.
