i've applied for a couple of further education beauty therapy courses but they all ask for work experience?

how do you get work experience in beauty therapy without any qualifications?

Try asking few Beauty salons if you can come for few hours a week to get some work experience. I'd say a week or 2 should be enough, but make sure you get a letter from the salons manager stating that you have done work experience with them :)
It is basically just so you know what is happening in within the salon. You wont be working with the customers, probably just cleaning up, but you'll be there watching everything ;)

It still makes no sense to having to have work experience to be able to get onto a course. They do the same with Hairdressing course.

I've asked a few salons but they don't seem too keen on having someone do work experience even for a day :/

yea i don't understand why you must have work experience in a salon before you even start the course, normally you do experience during the course

anyway thanks for your reply :)

Are you sure they are not just asking if you have any experience of working in a salon. PLC's would not usually look for work experience but would have a section on application form asking about any experience you may have. It would not be mandatory to have this.

they were asking about experience involving beauty but maybe they wanted other experience too?

but like if u didnt have experience i think it would hinder you? they're more likely to pick someone who has loads of experience in beauty which i dont think is fair.
