    Does anyone know if the maths syllabus for leaving cert higher maths has changed to project maths or whether it is currently still beig phased in and can still choose the more traditional course??

    Yes it has changed to project maths, and all 5 strands of the new course are on this year and from now on. You cannot choose the old course

    The LC Project Maths syllabus was phased in over the past couple of years. There was no option to "choose the traditional course". Well, unless you were in one of the early pilot schools which were two years ahead and moved to a non-pilot school.

    2014 is Phase 3 for everyone outside the pilot schools, that's the full Project Maths paper - all 5 strands of it.

    Hopefully soon we can go back to just calling it 'Maths' so..

    I note that the Exams Commission never stopped calling it "Mathematics". (They just put a parenthesised note after the title on the question papers to tell you which phase of the project it was.) I presume they'll be able to drop that note shortly.
