In the absence of a humour thread I'll leave this here. Been reading Poe and spending way too much time on this forum.

On a gameweek dark and dreary, stare at laptop, eyes all bleary
3 a.m unsure of transfers, scouring forum in search of answers
Reading posters argue tersely, Captain Suarez! No, Van Persie!
When from the garden, beyond the roses, disrupting plan for dropping Moses
Sound of footsteps drawing nearer, muttered whispers growing clearer
Words that chill me to the core
    "Mickey Turner... Evermore"

Seized with terror, fate uncertain, tip toe nervous to the curtain
Draw it back, what do I see? what dreadful vista waits for me?
Deep in shadows Mr. Prodston, clad in sheepskin like John Motson
Voice raised high, in wrathful trembling, like roryc confronting Lemlin
Quoth the mod outside my door
    "Mickey Turner...Evermore"

Heart wells up with painful sadness, seeing him consumed by madness
In vain with him I try to plead, why not consider Ward or Reid?
(With careful tread avoid explosion, speak no word of Martin Olsson)
Easier to jump into a snake pit, or persuade 8-10 not to take a points hit
Obsessed with former clean sheet earner, injured now but hoped returner
    Stumbles off but not before
    "Mickey Turner ... Evermore"

So I dwell alone and fearful, after Mr Prodston’s earful
Distract myself with FF obsessing, change formations, second guessing
Double gameweek points potential, fevered search for differential
Trapped indoors, restrained, confined, like Simon Mignolet stuck to his line
Words to haunt me to deaths door
    "Mickey Turner ... Evermore"

Just spotted this while trying to decide whether I'll go with Adam or Snodgrass this GW.

Truly brilliant, brought a real smile to my face and encapsulates how I and I'm sure many others feel at this stage of the season. :D

Daffodils(couldnt think of a funny name so kept original so every one gets it)

I contimplated to pick James Ward Prowse
To float on high so i can get my thrill,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
    Srambling to sign Mezut Ozil;
To play a four four two or a four three three,
Or to blow the lot to get Wayne Rooney.

Continuous as the stars that shine
Were the bonus points along the way,
For top spot it will be mine
As you add them up through the day:
    Thousands saw sat a glance,
To captain suarez and take a chance.

In the pub i danced; but friends
Out-did me at the week of twenty three:
A football manager could not but be gay,
    In such a jocund company:
    I gazed--and gazed--but little thought
what third place to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
    Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart not with pleasure fills,
Because i captained mezut ozil :(

Here's my Christmas themed one, just incase anyone missed it or wants to reminisce :pac:

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=88104468&postcount=1

"Twas the last gameweek before Christmas,
    when all through the forum,
    not a banker was certain,
    except Seamus Coleman.

    Our hopes were all hung,
on the poll that ne're fail,
    In hopes that Saint Luis,
    Soon would prevail.

    Now Ramsey, now Yaya,
    now Turner and Silva,
    on Ozil, on Oscar
    on Hazard and Whittingham.

To the top of the table,
    to the top 100k,
    now dash away,
    to the FSA.

    And then in a twinkling,
    I heard on the Twitter,
    that Suarez was coming,
    and wouldn't miss a sitter.

    Cometh the hour,
    and cometh the man,
    Aguero and Rooney,
    can only look on.

    A wink of his eye,
and a twist of his head,
    soon gave me to know,
    we had nothing to dread.

    He sprang to the goal,
to his team gave a whistle,
    and away they all flew,
    with 3 bonus for Luis.

    But I heard him exclaim,
as Cardiff looked out of sight,
    Happy Christmas to all,
    and to all a goodnight."

This looked like a good thread to look at after a few days without looking in: 5 posts:)

Brilliant work sooner or later, I thought Mr P's Christmas effort would be a very memorable once off but I reckon you might even have surpassed it (sorry Mr P, we're still bessiers, well you're bessiers with everyone:()

    Good work too larchielads:)

    Serious talent on here boys:P

Can I suggest September 1913 by Yeats as the next poem to be honoured thus
