Holy smokes the price of them! Pretty sure you could get something similar in AllSaints...they do a lot of dark colours!

Out of these two, I would choose the first, simply for the shoulder-details.

Their are however, through a google search, plenty of mens cashmere sweaters for sale for half-those prices. Is it the burberry branding you are buying into over the actual colour and designs?

I'd choose the first here though as the shoulder-detail really caught my eye :)

I would avoid the first one purely because of the shoulder details :)
    I dislike anything obviously branded.

The second one is nothing special IMO for that kind of money. Unless it is as soft as butter in reality and even then... I'm sure you can get good quality cashmere for half (or less) than that.

A plain, dark grey, crew-neck cashmere sweater is hard to find online, and they always seem to be in this price. You'll never find one that fits the exact description as above that's cheaper than that

It could be worse! It could have BURBERRY in big letters printed across the front. A lot of people my age would recognise the likes of abercrombie, but wouldn't even recognize burberry!!

Well if you're happy to wear it, go for it. Personally I wouldn't like it.

Neither, besides the price they are both boring bog standard crew necks. You'll look no different than someone wearing something similar from the high street. Uniqlo do cashmere knitwear for less. The reason that fits the guy in the link the way it does because A he's in great shape and B he is wearing a size too small for him to make it look like a slim cut. Look at the sleeve and body length both are too short, with wear it will look worse.

I agree with the last post, they are really bland and cheap looking.

Op they look like something you would pick up in Zara for €30

I don't know of Zara yet, but I do know that you don't get burberry sweater for €30 anywhere(including zara). I doubt you'd get genuine cashmere for €30 either

Anybody who saw a proper cashmere jumper knows there is no comparison with acrylic high street creations. Differences can be subtle and you don't need a big Armani poster across the chest to make something look expensive.

    I like the second one.

Zara do have a more luxury line of clothes. Although they have their cheap and cheerful selection. They often have jumpers that are 100% wool. And Im imagine (havent been yet) but their sister company Massimo Dutti on Grafton Street sells cashmere jumpers.

The point is who cares if the jumper is cashmere or not, it's horrible looking.

I know what quality zara are. They are bit better than most British higstreet brands and worse than mid market Italian/French brands. There is no comparison with quality of high end brands. I like their stuff but the quality is not great. I haven't been to massimo dutti yet so I can't comment about them.

I stopped by the Grafton St store last week and left feeling a bit underwhelmed by the selection and the quality, it stuck me as a slightly upmarket version of Zara (not surprising considering they're both owned by Inditex).

    Blinded by the label.

I found the same thing about Massimo Dutti, Dublin Finglas, I was looking at pocket squares and they were all variations of the same design (as the sales-lady pointed out to me - "and here's a blue one, and he's a red one, and we have it in white..." :)

As for the sweater, second one for me, but 400 quid is way way more than you need to pay for something like that. If it was handmade / rare / vintage / made of the wool of the lamb of god then fair enough, but its not.

I'd recommend you look at John Smedley sweaters; still "high end" but about 1/3 less expensive.
