Does anyone know if you need to be living alone to be eligible for the Single Parent Tax Credit. I know the rules have changed regarding the eligibility in 2014. But i am interested in knowing of you were back in your parents home and your child was staying there with you for part of the year do you still qualify.

Yup! I got it for 5 years while I was there. This was pre 2014 though, but I have the forms in front of me and they dont ask any different.

Its now called a spcc1 form for this year. If you are taking it instead of the main carer, you need to get the spcc2 form and have main carer sign it to pass over the credit.
