    Hello,
I've a friend who's planning on running the DCM. He would be a decent runner (sub 35min 10k). Is there any decent books or plans geared towards a sub 3hr marathon that anyone could recommend.

    Thanks in advance.

Loads of them but we'd really need to know a lot more about his running background to make a suitable recommendation.

40 years old. GAA all his life, got into running in the last two years really. Would be in good shape but wouldn't have done many longer runs.

Advanced Marathoning by Pete Pfitzinger and Scott Douglas. Several plans in the back. Tell him to choose whichever suits him best. Also, he should read the whole book.
