Speeding/Penalty points but not my car!

    Hi guys,

I sold my car on the 18/02/2014, had new owner fill in log book ,signed and sent off the next morning. I've since received E-Flow letters for the car for that week amounting to nearly €50 which I'm being charged for and last night I received a speeding fine/penalty points notice in my name but obviously it wasn't me driving , it was the new owner. The date it happened was 19/02/2014.

Any advice on what to do here? Surely I cannot be held liable for these , I have a full clean licence and I'm proud of that would like to keep it that way!

I would have thought that once Shannon get around to updating the ownership details on their system then none of this will be your problem.

Same thing happened to me and it was just a case of waiting for Shannon to update the details and everything was transferred to the lucky new owner.
