I think iv a bit of a Corsair case nut these days, last 3 cases iv had are Corsair. They just make great cases.

I want a mini ITX build that has a possibility of gaming but wont be main gaming machine but a nice option. But using the Obsidian Series 250D, make me a great build

Id like 4TB or above hard drive
I have 8GB ram so that isnt needed
    No monitor needed
    Mini ITX motherboard
    CPU needed
    GPU needed
    psu needed

    My budget is 700 euro
I like a quiet build and wont burn through the ESB bill.

I also not sure shall I wait for steam OS or just go for the old trusty windows?

I would say go for a copy of windows because steam OS is in very early beta stage .
If you want good gaming performance from a gpu then gtx 750 is your answer for your gpu . It also means you won't need to spend a whole chunk of money on a psu .

If you run this through geizhals it should come to around €700.

Steam OS can only run opengl games which will severely limit what you can play on it.

    Item|Price
Corsair Obsidian Series 250D mit Sichtfenster, Mini-ITX, ohne Netzteil|€82.61
    Intel Core i5-4440 Box, LGA1150|€157.04
    ASRock B85M-ITX, Sockel 1150, ITX|€68.03
Seagate Desktop 4 TB, SATA 6Gb/s|€142.02
    Crucial M500 120GB SATA 6GB/s 6,4CM (2,5") 7mm|€61.89
    MSI R9 270 GAMING 2G, AMD Radeon R9 270, 2GB DDR5|€158.23
Corsair CX Series Modular CX500M, 500W|€56.02
    Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - Intel/AMD|€29.69

I would also look up reviews for the new bay trail motherboard by gigabyte . It has a quad core celeron built on to the board it's passively cooled and uses about 10 watts of power .

Hey Headshot, I've been toying with the same idea as yourself. Always fancied a mini gaming PC :). Also a big fan of the Corsair Obsidian cases! Anyway, here is what I came up with.

    Case:Corsair Obsidian 250D - 82.61
    CPU: i5-4570 - 169.51
    Mboard: ASUS H87I-PLUS - 98.00
    GPU: ASUS Radeon R9 270 - 169.74
    RAM: 8GB, 1600, Crucial - 64.01
    HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB - 51.92
    SSD: Samsung 120GB, SSD 840 - 74.99
PSU: be quiet! Pure Power 500w - 58.82

Hardwareversand Total inc delivery - 789.60

I've got this in the basket, ready to go. Any reason why I shouldn't go for it?
My wife isn't here to stop me, and I'm very sorely tempted!!

P.S. - sorry for jumping on your thread HS, hopefully my possible build might give ya some ideas!

Forgot to say if you want wifi you will need a better board with integrated wifi unless you go with usb. Homeplugs are an option as well.

Thanks lads for the advice. Just a change of plan now. I want a wifi, so a new mobo is wanted and I wont be needing a GPU. Ill be using my 670 and getting new cards for the main pc
