some time last year, i received an email from yahoo via flickr, saying they liked some of my pics, and would i like to join the "yahoo project weather". i like taking pics of skies a lot, so thought why not?
the idea is that your pics will be background images in the yahoo weather app for iphone/android.
i'm a bit of a weather fanatic and am a bit obsessive with the apps, so i really thought it'd be cool. i submitted a few pics, that were geotagged to different locations i've been to here in ireland, the USA & canada, etc.

today i was sitting in the car, checking the weather app (as i do) and i was in swords, but the location services thought i was in balbriggan.
i then realise it's my pic in the background! i just thought it was pretty cool! first time i've actually seen one of my pics in-app.

if you are into weather and don't mind your pics being used in an app, you should have a look at project weather on flickr, and maybe submit a few pics! they have to be geotagged though, and at least 1024px wide.
