Advice needed regarding B7 Audi A4

    Hi all!
    I recently bought a 2005 A4 1.6 petrol with 110k miles and in good mechanical order and I have noticed it is using a bit of oil- nothing too dramatic maybe 0.5 litres per 1000 km .
    It is also worryingly loosing coolant !
    The car is driving perfect / reaching temp as normal not getting hot etc , no smoke or outward signs of any engine issues.

    The heater and aircon are working 100%
    I'm usually fairly up to speed with cars but this has me worried and puzzled at the same time!

    Oil loss is within manufacturers specs but the coolant loss is making me lean towards head gasket on the way out.

    When purchasing the car I brought it for a good 35-40 min spin and it showed no indications of any problems. I had checked the oil cap for any gunk - ie head gasket issues etc

    Please guys and girls! Has anyone any advice for me as to the cause or has anyone had similar issues??

    How much coolant is lost?
    Does car smoke at all? Is there gunk on oil cap?

    Its also worth noting that the coolant level rises and falls as the engine runs it through the channels. If your checking, check it cold first thing in the morning.

    Coolant went from max level to minimum in 8 days - no smoke on idle or driving .
    No gunk/mayo like stuff on the oil cap etc.
    I had checked all these items when test driving the car from cold .
    I'm fairly clued in about cars in general and the car showed zero signs of any issue on the 40 min test drive.

    The cars not down in power and the temp is rising and operating as normal. I've checked for coolant losses etc but the engine is free from Any oil leaks or coolant leaks.

    I'm bringing the car to my mech this afternoon ,but in my experience a car that's loosing coolant with no matrix issues or hose leaks tends to lean towards a HG on the way out???

    But if that were the case surely it would show signs of that eg smoke or fumes + unstable/ higher engine temps?

    The car was purchased last week and had just been serviced prior to sale!

    Just an update-- the car is smoking a bit on over-run and if sitting in traffic idling for a bit it smokes while accelerating away. The cars not smoking while under normal acceleration up through the gears .
    My head is melting over this tbh as we are saving for our first house and can't afford to be putting money into repairs etc.. Has anyone got a guess or suggestion?
    My mech was unavailable btw due to a family death .
