I'm looking for any information people have on applying for a civil service job in Dublin. Currently there are no vacancies on public jobs.ie

Does anyone know how often they recruit and when the next recruitment will be? Also do you still need Irish to apply or is that long gone?

    Any info much appreciated.

Have you not heard? There's a moratorium on recruitment of non-frontline staff. So they won't be recruiting anytime soon, apart from some possible Summer jobs that will be temporary.

Seriously?! No I hadn't heard. That's not good news. Thanks for the info.

I'll see I'd I can find out about the summer jobs. Fingers crossed.

Ah, that moratorium is there for the past 4/5 years. Best of luck in your search.

You can create an account on publicjobs.ie and sign up for email alerts when (or if :pac:) a job/ competition in the area you're interested in comes up. That way you won't miss out.

    I really don't understand this:confused:

Not sure why you would think you would gain great experience in the civil service? At best it is the same as any other organisation and at it's worst it is an archaic organisation using the worst practices.

That's speaking from working in it. If you want to learn a lot and be challenged a start up company is the way to go. You have to be a jack of all trades

There was an Administrative officer, legal researcher and third secretary recruitment last year. It's unlikely that there will be more recruitment this year.

    All graduate grades.
