Driving licence not delivered

    Hello

I was in a ndls center at the beginning of the month to exchange my foreign licence for an Irish one. My partner was with me to do the exact same thing (foreign licence as well).

However while he has received his full Irish Licence last week, I haven't received mine.

I am wondering if I should be worried, given that we both did the same application on the same date/same place/same time.

    Thanks

Have you tried contacting them and seeing what the story is?

They seem to be a bit slow to answer emails and there is no phone line available outside of my working hours

Get someone to ring on your behalf? Or pretend that they're you?

I received a letter from NDLS today. They have lost the copy of the national ID card I provided. It took a month for them to realize that. Incredible. I am pissed.

I blame the agent who has probably not done his job correctly.

And now my insurance is asking me for my licence within 7 days otherwise they will cancel my policy.

Show your insurance company a copy of the letter you received from the ndls.

The NDLS says I didn't provided the ID card. Except I was there in person. I had my ID card. I had my national public service card. Both documents being accepted by the NDLS. I gave all I had to the agent but obviously he didn't do his work correctly. I've sent them a mail because I am really mad at them right now.

    Oh come on.
    This is Ireland.
Public offices don't do their work properly. They never did, and they never will.
Just chill down, and accept it.
No other way around it, if you want to live here :D
