    Hi,
    Details here

Adrian Sadlier came fifth last year- link

APOY 2014 follows a similar format to last year, with ten monthly rounds from March until December. The competition is open to all amateur photographers and each month's round follows a theme.

After the closing date of each round, the entries are narrowed down to a shortlist of 50, then the top 30, and finally the top three. Points are awarded to each image for creativity, technical excellence and how well the image fulfils the brief.

    Good luck all,
    Pa.

Just a brief clarification: Points are awarded to the top 50 images only each month. Top 30 images are printed in the magazine and on the web-site.

    Good luck to everybody.

    Adrian

    Two questions -
1.i presume your entry for each category must be taken during the month, from start date to end date? It didn't state this on their website.
    2. Any issue with event photos of strangers,, their face being clearly recognisable?
    Thanks
    Pa

Another question, I can't see it anywhere in the terms, how much editing can be done per photo.

    Thanks

Guys, these questions are best directed to the AP forum - they have a specific section on APOY.

From what I know, the photos can be taken at any time. They must not have been published nationally (in the UK as AFAIK).

Any editing you like - an HDR swan, chasing a heron, with a puffin swooping down with fish in its mouth, dodging the gannets, under the Samuel Beckett bridge if you like, with a spot coloured leprechaun in a canoe, heading over to get the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, if it takes your fancy. It might even do well (some of last year's results still puzzle me).

Well, my entry for round 1 is in. Don't forget, the deadline for the first round is 5.00pm on the 28th of March (his Friday).

Good luck to all who enter.

top 30 photos from round 1 here

I didn't make it. Don't think I will in any round but still a bit exciting and fun.
    Round 2 deadline 5pm tomorrow.
    Good luck.

I didn't make it either (not even top 50). Entry in for round 2 - at least I could enter one of my Westie shots :)
