Google has just issued the new Google Maps. You can look at cycling trails in any area; only thing - both cycling trails and walking-only trails are in dark green, and they're indistinguishable to me.

Are you talking about the web based version ? I was part of the preview so have been using it quite a while, I presumed everyone could opt in if they chose to ?

Anyway, yeah, I noticed that before, I think the two of them are slightly different shades, trails is more black, dedicated lanes are greener, but I too find it very hard, if not impossible, to distinguish the two.

I'm not sure how useful it is outside of the city anyway, it doesn't even show the trails around Three Rock, so at the moment just seems to be for dedicated lanes and there are in fact no trails documented, hence being unable to distinguish the two ?

Yes, the web version. I saw that they're supposed to be slightly different, but I can't distinguish them at all. Not great for Google if it's going to be blamed by a million cyclists being shouted at by angry park wardens!
