There aren't going to be many views here yet, since it's only new out. Try some of the online reviews, although there aren't that many detailed ones. http://vans.honestjohn.co.uk/van-reviews/ford/transit-custom-2013/

A bit late to give you feedback about these vans. Apparently a lovely van to drive but are a They are a complete bogey. I know of two people who bought them from new. One guy bought in early 2013 and after a year he was looking at taking Ford dealership to court. He had en endless list of problems with it within the 1st 6 months of buying. I haven't talked to him in the last 12 months so unsure how, when or if he got sorted by dealership. My brother in law bought one 10 months ago. Endless list of trouble with it. Very bad door hinges. Both snapped on drivers and passengers side when wind caught door. Chocolate hinges on the doors. Twice the altenator belts failed. How does that happened ??? Endless trouble with sensors. Ignition starter motor has gone. Steering turning creaking when turning wheels and various other noises. Window clips easily broken. Brother in law is presently threatening legal action. Not sure how he wants to proceed. Van currently in the garage. The van is a heap of junk. Just warning people if your thinking of buying. I would advise to google 'problems with new ford transit custom'

I haven't talked to him in the last 12 months so unsure how he got on. It's not a case of teeting problems as it was 2 years on the market since its launch. My brother in law bought one 10 months ago. Endless list of trouble with it. Very bad door hinges. Both snapped on drivers and passengers side when wind caught door. Chocolate hinges on the doors. Twice the altenator belts failed. How does that happen ??? Endless trouble with sensors. Ignition starter motor has gone. Steering column creaking when turning wheels and various other noises. Window clips easily broken. Difficultly in closing back door. Sensors go off. Sensors go off when reversing. Brother in law is presently threatening legal action. Not sure how he wants to proceed. Van currently in the garage. He has a list on 10 faults with van. Dealership has done diagnostic and says there's nothing coming up so basically trying to invalidate his complaints. The van is a heap of junk. Just warning people if your thinking of buying. I would advise to google 'problems with new ford transit custom' Do your own homework. The van was 2 years on the market when he bought from new and faults have not been corrected. My guess it that there are two many faults to rectify. The van is a complete lemon

    .

Hi a bit late but better be late than never, I along with 2 neighbours each bought a new Ford Transit Custom van.
One being a 161 and 2 of them were 162s.
All three van have broken down and left us on the road during the year.
All having done about 40 to 50k each
All three had diesel fuel systems problems , cost of repair was in the thousands even though it is covered under warranty .
Ford would want to get their act together as these vans will be worthless in a few years.

Are they the 2.0 or 2.2 engines?

I've read that the euro 6 2.0 gives more trouble then the euro 5 2.2...

Fuel pump in 2 of them, and pump and injectors in the 3rd one, very serious once the guarantee runs out along with the down time.

Pumps and injectors dont give trouble on either transit or the custom sounds more like bad diesel to me.

The guy with a 2.2 ltr has got all his diesel in one place, his pump went, the other 2 of us get fuel all over.
