Refitted a new toilet recently in the house after the old one packed in ( 20 years of use) anyways more or less refitted in reverse order . Now there's a decent sized leak coming from where the cistern seats into the toilet,. Around what looks like the large donut washer . I've refitted it twice now and I still can't get to the bottom of it ,.? Any ideas ?

sounds like the siphon unit inside the cistern wasnt properly sealed when been fitted

Is it a constant leak ?
If so it's as above, siphon not sealed properly.

If its only when you flush,
then the cistren is not sitting on the bowl properly, possibly due to screws on cistren attaching it to the wall are pulling it out of line.
