Hi, I had a baby last March but before that I had been working full time. However I was on a rolling contract and the month i went on Maternity leave my contract was up. I was on state maternity and after that I went onto JB as I did not have a job to go back to. My 9 months on JB is up the end of next month and employment services have been telling me I should take an internship. This would give me a total income of €238 per week. I have no family at all around and the cheapest childminder I can find is €130 per week. We just cant live on €108 per week. Impossible! My husbands wage is not great and we live week to week. Social welfare have told me that I wont get €188 on JA and if I cant get work I should take an internship! Surely Im missing something here. Should I really be working full time for less then i would be getting on Social Welfare. I have been applying for Jobs every week (4 this week alone) but nothing so far. Is there something Im missing with regard to what I can or should be claiming?
