A friend of mine is about to buy one of these. It has a carbon frame and fork, 105 shifters/levers and derailleurs, a lower spec Shimano chainset and brake callipers, tiagra cassette and chain & Shimano 501 wheelset

Price is 1500 - which is pretty much what all the shops are selling these at

Anyone have any views on these or better alternatives for the money.

I was thinking of this bike also for my upgrade on BTW. I ended up going for cube alu frame/carbon fork but with full 105 group and Macic wheels. The sensium looks and feels class though. If I had the spare dosh i'd have gone for sensium and upgraded the wheels.

I have the 100 CP, it's a lovely bike. No issues with it after 1600km.

I think the difference between the 100 and the 200 is the groupset - only the 200 has the 105 groupset. It's probably the only weak-point I can spot in the 100.

Cheers - thanks for the comments. By all accounts it seems that the wheelset (Shimano 501) is the weekest part of the package. It is also a little disappointing not to have a full groupset across all componets but rather a cheaper chainset and brake callipers. The frame appears to get good reviews though.

I bought mine in cyclesuperstore ,I upgraded the wheels there and then and they allowed me the cost of the original wheels against the new ones.

I was in a similar predicament 15 months ago. Had a look at the Sensium 200, loved it but ruled it out absolutely on account of the wheelset. I then explored the Cube GTC Pro which had a much higher specification, in my opinion. Had almost bought this but opted for a Canyon instead. At the end of the day, it comes down to personal preference in the final analysis.
