have satellite dish Q about irish channels

    I have my sat dish and borrowed a friends standard settop box to see if its working


    i picked up all the main uk channels and im wondering how i go about getting the rte channels?
    can they be picked up with the sat dish?

    the rte can't be picked up by your sat set up

    if you want rte on sat you will need a sky sub or a dish pointed to 9east for saorsat.

    given what you have, get a combo box for the uk channels and install an aerial for the irish

    just out of interest if i have a sat dish and box am i able to ring up sky and ask them to switch some stations on for me if so how much would that be or would I have to get a whole package from sky?

    The Irish channels are part of the basic package, approx. €27 pm, they're not available separately.

    cool cheers wont be going down that path so haha

    seen this box in power city if I bought an aeriel would this sort me out then? or would something like this need the irish sat dish?

    You'd be better off with ur second option however you will need an aerial to receive the irish channels on it, however depending on where u are an internal aerial mite give u the irish channels.

    Option 1 will require a second dish pointed at 9east

    yea i dont mind an indoor aerial noway am i putting up another sat dish the other one was a nightmare:D
