    Hi,

My spare car tyre is not inflating. I tried to pump it at the station air pump machine and nothing happens. Is the valve bad or something else?

Not to be smart, but it sounds like it's punctured.

But I remember I had it pumped at tyre garage about 2 years ago and it was fine.

Is it one of the digital air pumps?
As in you enter the desired pressure on the display and connect to the nozzle?

If so there's a flat tyre button for completely flat tyres.
    Caught me out before.

Can you make picture of your car spare tyre and post it up here?
Lets see if we can help you to find where's the problem.
Tyre centers charging way too much those days to solve problems like this

Yes digital air pump, but I'm pretty sure I saw no such button for that, just the + and - to increase/ decrease psi.

Just a rusty steel wheel rim with hardly any thread left on tyre, would be embarrassed to put up a picture :D

If it's that ratty then there's a fair chance it's perished and useless.

Hang on. Is the hissing sound of air entering the tyre present or is it just silent?

Id say the inflator (or user:p) is at fault then. Theres a lot to be said fot the normal lever type inflator really! Id probably go to a garage with one of those and use that instead. Them digital yokes can be a pain in the hole.

Do all the digital ones have a flat tyre button like other poster mentioned coz I never spotted it.

You should be rotating it into use on the car. If it's a space saver you should take it to a reputable tyre fitters to be checked. And check it more than once every two years for god's sake.

If there is no sound at all it's probably the machine being faulty. Ask inside.
