I would like to build a PC for Family use, I have a large collection of photographs which is growing, my present PC struggles with the large files involved.
I want it to be as fast, and as silent as is possible.

    1. What is your budget? 1200 - 1300

    2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? Me - Photographic- large RAW files using Photoshop, NEX - Gaming (my son ) -- MS office, Skype, the internet –(my wife).

    3. Do you need a copy of Windows? [NO] I have Win 7 Pro 64

    4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? YES the monitor

    5. Do you need a monitor? [YES] I would want to have 2 monitors so use my old monitor

5a. If yes, what size do you need. 24 “

    5b. , what resolution is your current monitor 1280 x 1024 / 75 Hz

    6. Do you need any of these peripherals? I have all peripherals

    7. Are you willing to try overclocking? No as I hope this rig will do the job .I would like to be able to try it later.

    8. How can you pay? [Bank Transfer/Credit Card/Laser] I don’t fancy Bank transfer as sending €1300 blind to a company that has problems with communications makes me feel sea sick

    9. When are you purchasing? [Soon as ready. I would rather wait till the component I want is in stock than take 2nd best]

    10. If you need help building it, where are you based? Dublin.-- I have never built a PC but would like to, but with a fall back of help.
I have been reading the threads on boards and selected this list and would welcome your advice on component compatibility etc
