Best resources for learning Java?

    Would prefer something a bit hands on, like a tutorial involving a project or the like - rather than just a textbook. Although I'll take textbook recommendations too.

    If there are any MOOC type courses that would be great.

    Free if possible, although I wouldn't mind spending a bit if it paid off down the line (seem to be a lot of jobs in Java development).

    Using this MOOC

    mooc.cs.helsinki.fi/programming-part1/material-2013/week-1

    Javaranch.com is a good site

    HeadFirstJava is a good book IMO

    Only learning since Xmas but have found the above really good
