Hi. I am 25 years of age and I was an irish dancer for 16 years. I am now a qualified secondary school teacher and want to become a irish dance teacher aswel. I am not interested in competitions as I won't have the time but I would like to have it as an option. Anyone have any recommendations on what teachers examinations to do?

    Hey,
I don't know too much about taking your exams with CAID.
I'm with CLRG myself. I know that if you take your exams with CLRG, there's lots of help out there. It's a hard process, as I'm sure it is with CAID, but as I said there's lots of teachers out there that specialise in teaching teachers. It's great that you're thinking of taking them anyway.
If you do decide to take them in Coimisiun, get back to me and I can put you in touch with someone that will help you pass the exams.
    Hope this information is helpful.

Thank you for your advice.. Very helpful.. Would be brilliant to get into contact with someone who specialises in teaching teachers.. I dont fancy going back to my original class.. Do I have to stay in the organisation I previously danced with? Another question also, do I have to have a qualified teacher to witness I can become a teacher?

As far as I know you don't have to stay in the organisation you danced with. If you apply to be a TCRG in Coimisiun, I'm sure that as long as you pass the exams it doesn't matter what organisation you came from.

And Yes, you do need a qualified teacher to sign off on your application to CLRG to become a teacher, but if you were training with someone they could sign it for you.
