I want to produce a simple Excel sheet to calculate the wavelengths of H atom transitions and calculate, in nm, the first 4 lines of the Brackett series.

Would anyone know what is wrong with the Excel sheet I have attached?

    the n-1 is wrong.

it should be at =4 for each calc.

The labelling seemed messed up, the range n was not defined,
but I am assuming that wasn't the issue of your post.

Delete the n name from your list of defined ranges within Excel and redefine it. When I did this, the formulas worked and I got results consistent with the expected results.

If you like I can post the my changed version of the spreadsheet.
