Ford Transit Fan Belt

Hi, I have a 2005 Transit. There's an annoying loud squeek from the fan belt. Have tried the spray on it, which alleviates it for a bit, but it keeps coming back, so I think I'll replace it.
My father in law is fairly handy with motors, so he'll be directing me.
I think its a fairly handy job, isn't it? Just loosen the tensioner, slip the old belt off, fit the new one, and tighten it up again?
Think I read something about new tensioners being needed, is there a chance I'll need one of these too?

    thanks

Depends on the engine, but the tensioner maybe not needed to replace just the pulley if its noise. It is the same as the idler on some of them so not needed to buy the whole tensioner.

Is the tensioner hopping up and down while the engine is running?

It could be the alternator pulley causing the squeak.
