    Hi Guys

I'm going to be buying a new in the next 8 weeks. The choices I have given myself is the newer 2011 Audi A6 C7 model or the BMW 5 Series (new shape) 2010+.

Just wondering if anyone has anything to say about either of them be it good or bad?

I am presently driving a 2006 Audi A6 2.0 TFSI and I love it hence why I'm leaning towards the newer A6's beautiful cars with a lovely interior.

Both are expensive with the Audi coming in a little heavier since the c7 came into production in 2011.

Any opinions/experiences/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Id advise you to drive the A6 as imo, its significantly different to drive than your current car. I found it a pig (in S line from at least). They are nice cars but the interior in the more basic versions of the A6 is poor enough equipment wise.
5 series is a nicer drive.
You will do well to find a petrol version of either if you were looking for one.

Thanks for the response. Yeah petrols seem to be gone entirely unless your opting for the newer a6 in 2.8tfsi form. I'll have to weight up my options both cars to look at are lovely once you get the right model and with the right mod cons. Although the a5 has a bit of appeal to it also but it would have to be s-line. I'm not a fan of the sportbacks/basic ones.

is it a petrol or diesel you are after? If going for the 5, try get one from 2011 on, when the timing chain issue is allegedly rectified. What is your budget?

You will not find a petrol model of either in this country.

the 328 F30 would be some car, 0-100 in 5.9, low tax (also VRT by extensions) and at least very good fuel costs, given the performance... There were 2 or 3 for sale on autotrader.co.uk the last time I checked, non now...

Sure drive them all and see what you prefer. I have an f10 msport and love it

Audi would be more reliable than Bmw. That personally would tip it for me. The other option is Mercedes with their E class which is a classy looking machine and probably very reliable.

Yeah petrol is impossible to get unfortunately as in truth I am not doing enough mileage on a weekly basis to get the full value out of a diesel.

My current car is the 2.0T a6 and that's still pretty good mpg.

In terms of looks both the newer a6 and 520 are beauts especially in the s-line and m sport models. Just a case of deciding and picking the right car at the right time I guess.

But the current 3 series is odd looking to say the least.

the e class is a gorgeous car. The F10 but particularly the m sport is a stunner, in alpine white and steel grey I think it is in particular...

the below 250CDI came out in 2011, great all rounder, i.e. vrt, motor tax, performance and economy...
