Is there any difference in quality between one fuel (petrol/diesel) provider and another?
Topaz make a claim of up to an extra 25km per tank (not sure if that is petrol or diesel).
I filled the tank with Applegreen diesel the other day and the pickup just feels sluggish since. Not worrying bad, but just lacks pep.

Or is one diesel supplier just the same as another?

All fuel sold in Ireland legally, comes from the same place.
The only difference is in what additives each retailer chain add.

Greatgas and invers websites would indicate petrol can be sourced from foynes (refined elsewhere, I suppose) as well as whitegate refinery.
Throwing it out there, would be good to have a definitive answer on what comes from where for who.

As said all petrol diesel coming out of refinaries is the same. The issue is what the garages brands are adding to the fuel as well as how they maintain there pumps tanks etc to ensure the fuels aren't carrying dirt from the tanks etc. so for these reasons IMO the fuel you put in your car is not all the same. I use topaz 95% as I find it the best with esso probably second for me. I use these stations based on my own experience with economy and advice from people who test fuels or have an interest in the area I'm sure there is plenty of other good brands there just the ones I use that's all.

I think topazs fuel claims of an extra 25km per tank are true. In fact if I buy bad diesel my economy drops like a stone and I could get 100-200km less to a tank. The best way of telling how good the fuel is, is by economy the better it is the better your engine will run the more economical it will be comparing like with like driving style / type obviously.

I know a pilot who flies small aircraft and gets his fuel in large jerry cans for the plane.
They do different kind of tests and stuff on the fuel, and he says some petrol stations give out absolutely dire quality petrol.

Laced with ethanol or just plain dirty. Really poor for the engine and doesnt last as long.

Think he mentioned Topaz as being one of the poorer quality stations.
