Yes FRS are the main supplier of it. Also good idea to ring your local FRS as its only mainly 2 branches that advertise on DD but it's more than likely available in all.

That's what I did and saved me travelling too far. It's a good product depending on what you use it for. For the perfectionists, good to know in advance that it can go a little wavey (not lay 100% flat) depending on the temperature, but will equally go back into shape again. Although ply wouldn't be long doing the same, and then proceed to rot. At least this won't rot. Very easy cut and work with any woodwork tools, ie circular saw, jigsaw, chisel, handplane etc

Is it easy stuff to handle and bend it ?? Could be handy here on a few round feeders

Used 12mm sheets to line the sides and floor of a 6x4 car trailer. Mostly used for fencing work carrying posts etc. Often i just unhitch it and leave it in the yard as its a pain to reverse. At least it will withstand the weather. Buckles a bit in the heat. I think the trick is to cut it a fraction small, drill the holes a bit big and use washers. Dont over tighten the fixings as it allows the sheet to expand and contract as necessary. Got a few sheets of 6mm to cover the lower inside section of doors of slatted house where tinplate had rotted from dung.
Bought it off Talitech in Cork. 6mm was 34 +vat.
12mm was 63+vat. They do other plastic boards too.

It would be ideal for round feeders. V flexible.

Made from recycled silage plastic. Polyethylene to be exact. Often wondered what they did with the old wrap.

I did a couple of ring feeders with it. A little bit of cutting needed but the I just drilled holes and cable tied it to the frame

Hi All, sorry for resurrecting this thread, was thinking of getting somme of this stock board for a few pens, are people still using this stuff and where in Munster would be best to source it price wise?

Got some last spring in Phil Bennis in Patrickswell just outside limerick a touch cheaper than the local merchants and FRS and had all different thickness even 3mm stuff

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 375 ✭✭Niallers87

Thanks very much, do you mind me asking how much you paid for a sheet of it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,965 ✭✭✭mr.stonewall

Sorry was spring 2022 and was €28+vat/sheet for 3mm. Had the option of smooth stuff which cleans easy

Went with it for dairy bred calves so not the heaviest stock on it. It can flex on the ground to stop low level draughts and slopes in the floor levels

no. I got it off FRS last year and only needed 1 sheet so was passing yesterday and grabbed it

Not overly expensive compared to other stuff. I first bought 6mm Stokbord in 2012 for inside of sliding doors and I think I gave low 30’s for it.

Greatproduct even though it is expensive.

You can go lighter with the thickness with this compared to using marine plywood etc..
