How to get rid of beard dandruff?

If I scratch my beard it just starts snowing white flakes of dandruff, and it doesn't stop. Ever. I could keep going until my desk has an inch thick layer of white dust.

How the feck can I stop this? I shampoo my beard every few days. It's not even that long, about a centimeter at it's longest.

It's probably just dead skin that would normally get blown away if you had no facial hair. I wash my face with a facewash thingy in the morning (courtesy of wifey) and no longer have the danfruff effect.

rub aragon oil in every night and then brush thru. its dirt cheap (2.50 a bottle), keeps your face moisturised and keeps the beard nice and soft.

Just give it a comb each day..... and wash it more often

At the end of the day be in beard/scalp/face it's just skin. This weather causes dry, flaky skin. So man up and moisturise. You can rub in your regular facial moisturiser in to your beard or you can use hair conditioner on your beard. Also be aware of hot water and soap or anything else that will dry you out.

How much water (water not liquid) do you drink a day? Are you getting enough oils in your diet? (Fish, nuts, seeds, avocado, etc). You can put whatever you want on the outside but the outside is dead. The inner/deep layers need nutrients.

A facial scrub will at best not work with a beard, at worst accelerate aging and dry your skin further if done too often. Try using an enzyme exfoliater once a week.

A facial scrub only removes the dead skin cells at the top. The living cells of the skin are deep below them and ex foliating them wont cause ageing and might actually prevent aging as the skin has to renew its self

A facial scrub is abrasive - it keeps removing as long as you keep scrubbing. Scrub too much or too often and you remove all the dead cells. The function of the dead cells is to shield the living cells and retain moisture. Remove the shield and the living cells are more exposed (eg to UV) and lose more water. As well as that, forcing skin to renew itself when it is not being supplied by sufficient raw materials to do so would be counter productive.
