Christian shoves him off the turnbuckles and throws Bryan into the cage wall, then he hits him a few times before Sheamus attacks him on the chamber floor. (Cont'd…)

He immediately follows with an uppercut for two, then Cena is buzzed in and he whips Christian into Sheamus before Bryan takes him down with a top rope hurricanrana. Bryan repeatedly kicks him in the chest and Christian hits a Killswitch, then Christian gets launched into the turnbuckles before Cena goes for a Five Knuckle Shuffle. Cesaro goes for a Neutralizer but Sheamus backdrops him, then Christian throws him on the floor and Christian hits Cesaro with a tornado DDT for two.

Christian sets up a Killswitch but Cena backdrops him into the chamber wall, then he goes after Cesaro and gets caught with a Very European uppercut for two. Cena comes back with an Attitude Adjustment attempt but Bryan kicks him in the chest, then Sheamus goes for a pin on Cesaro as Orton gets in. Cesaro kicks out as Orton starts stomping everyone, then he tries to punt kick Bryan but comes up short. Everyone surrounds him so Orton locks himself back in his pod, mocking Sheamus from inside, but Sheamus Brogue Kicks the pod open and Cena follows with a Five Knuckle Shuffle attempt. Cesaro throws Cena outside and gets Orton in the Giant Swing, then Bryan connects with a rolling German suplex before Sheamus knocks him down and Brogue Kicks Cena in the corner.

Christian tries to steal the rollup so Sheamus goes after him, throwing him into the cage before setting up an Iron Cross on the chamber floor. Christian breaks free and scales one of the pods, then Orton superplexes Sheamus and Christian follows with a Frog Splash off the pod for the first elimination. Christian avoids a hangman's DDT and backdrops him outside, but Bryan connects with a running knee and makes the cover for the second elimination. Bryan sends Orton to the floor as Cena slams Cesaro into the cage wall, then Bryan and Cena face off before slugging it out in the middle of the ring. Bryan goes for a YES Lock but Cena counters with an AA attempt, but Cesaro runs in and slams them both down before sending Orton outside.

Cesaro goes for a gutwrench but Cena blocks it, setting up another AA but Cesaro grabs the ropes, so Cena throws him onto the cage floor. He pulls him back in and makes Cesaro tap to the STF, then he puts Orton in the STF but the lights cut out and The Wyatt Family make an appearance. They take out Cena before Bryan tries to run them off, but he gets kicked in the face and Rowan clotheslines Cena in the corner. Bray follows with Sister Abigail on Cena, then they leave the chamber so Orton sneaks in and makes the cover on Cena to eliminate him. Kane comes out and orders the Wyatts away from the arena, then he checks on Cena but Bryan dropkicks him out of the chamber.

Orton whips Bryan into one of the pods and tries to take him up top, but Bryan gets free and repeatedly kicks him from the tree of woe position. Bryan hits a side superplex for two, then he heads back up top but Orton catches him with a cheap shot and a hangman's DDT from the turnbuckles. Orton sets up a RKO but Bryan counters with a running knee for two, then he makes the cover but Kane pulls the ref out of the ring. Bryan kicks him into the cage and Orton RKO's Bryan, but Bryan kicks out and Orton tries to quiet the crowd. Bryan tries to steal a rollup before hitting a standing enziguiri, then he pulls himself up with the ropes but Kane clotheslines him and Orton RKO's him for the win.

    Winner – Randy Orton

    Gave it a 7 out of 10.

Wyatts vs Shield was all shades of awesome, a real all out battle. Showed that if you take two acts, give them a consistent build, and let them go at it, the crowd will eat it up. Why, then, does that not happen more often!

Chamber match was ok, but nothing special imo. I had really hoped it wouldn't be as predictable as it turned out to be. When Bryan kicked out of the first RKO, I thought they might actually swerve us a bit, but no. I think most people know that ending was coming. Christian and Cesaro looked good, but I felt Sheamus never came out of the blocks. Something felt off about his timing for me tonight. I know they obviously have their plans and are sticking too them, but when the crowd so obviously want something else, this stubbornness frustrates me no end.

Batista vs Del Rio filled me with dread for the Mania main event; Batista looked dreadful in the ring in terms of not actually doing anything. At all. I shudder to think how the Mania crowd will turn on him vs Orton. They needed someone else in there.

Swagger vs Big E was brilliant. Titus vs Young was ok. And skipped the divas match. And #BnB felt like there should have been a payoff but it never came...

Going into Mania, we know what's happening. I feel it's uninspiring. But the six man and the IC title match bumped this show above average for me.

    Another 7.
Diva & Tag Title matches were below average. The IC match exceeded expectations. The Young vs Titus match may aswell of never happened I cared that little about it. Batista vs Del Rio was funny.....I guess. Wyatts vs The Shield was a fun wild brawl, pity Reigns didn't run through them at the end but as the Main Event showed WWE aren't into giving fans what they want. Chamber was decent, expected better but I enjoyed it. The finish was a little overbooked & the thought of Orton vs Batista fills me with dread. Put it on the youtube pre show please

And your Cena bet didnt come good either .....oh well.

Gave the show a 7. The chamber match was well worked and solid although obviously predictable. Cesaro looks every part the star, his in ring work is a piece of beauty. Bryan was his usual awesome self and Christian and Cena also worked hard. Orton didnt do much in the match and Shemo looked slugish and off the pace, which i put down to not being 100 percent yet stamina wise.

Shield v Wyatts was a great contest with Rollin and Harper the MVPs of the match. Both guys took some bumps and had some great spots, with the former Tyler Black looking very impressive for the first time in a while. Reigns could of looked stronger in defeat though. Interesting to see where Reigns v Ambrose goes from here after Dean disappeared.

Swagger and Big E was excellent considering the lack of build up. Both men worked their asses off and gave a thrilling match to start the PPV.

The rest was boring filler and that, coupled with the awful predictability of the out comes drags the PPV down

  • Registered Users Posts: 32,831 ✭✭✭✭CSF

I'm gonna go 6, could have been a 7 if everything wasn't so damn predictable.

I thought the Intercontinental match was the big surprise of the night, the Chamber was probably the highest quality match followed by the 6-man.

    Only three matches worth watching.

The IC title match was far better than anybody ever expected. With an actual storyline it would have been great.

The six man tag was boring as fcuk until the rules went out the window. Not sure why they have Reigns booked so strongly at Survivor Series and Royal Rumble only to fall so easy here. The crowd were really into it until the three count then they kinda died. Like me, they were expecting a lot more from the 3 on 1 stage.

My only issue with the Chamber match was the eliminations. Bar Sheamus they were all weak. The match itself was very good though and had the right result. Bryan should win the title at Wrestlemania, not a B-level PPV. They just have to get him into the match now.

people forget that Swagger is actually a decent wrestler, he's just booked into a black hole.
if they ever put him in the babyface Kurt Angle role (minus the "You Suck" chants) he could get seriously over.

In fairness, there's a reason that WWE are afraid to book him strongly....

The Shield and Wyatts match was one of the best I've seen in quite a while from WWE. I really enjoyed it and I thought everyone got over really, really well.

The opener, six man tag and main event were all good to excellent, the rest was just there. Thumbs up to the crowd for actually chanting Boo-tisita though. 7/10.

Someone took note of Batista's offence last night:

    3 punches
    3 elbows
    Move out of the way
    Shoulder tackle
    Spear
    2 clotheslines
    Move out of the way
    Spinebuster
Push Del Rio into exposed turnbuckle
    Batista bomb

In an 8 minute match, Batista had ~1:35 of combined offence, a lot of which was spent on the mat catching his breath.

    Wrestlemania main eventer.

I agree. While he is a very good grappler, he just is as bland as mud when on the mic or speaking in any capacity. Zeb and Cesaro are the only things keeping him relevant.

Seth Rollins is the one that showed me he can be a great babyface last night.

Crowd was really into him and he stood out in a match that was the best of the night. He sold like a champ and it looked natural and believable and of course the high spots he broke out were just brilliant.

Everyone always talks about Ambrose and Reigns. Not last night.

Mr.Tyler Black had a hell of a performance.

Elimination Chamber was a 7/10 for me, The Wyatt Family vs. The Shield = match of the night and definitely a match of the year candidate.... Elimination Chamber match itself was okay, even though we all knew how it would finish (had a little hope that Daniel Bryan would win, but scumbag WWE screwing us again), i think this crowd shot after Borton had retained says it all about Orton as champion,

    1959925_813344288680038_1156898933_n.jpg

IF Daniel Bryan isn't in the main event for Wrestlemania XXX, I HOPE THE NEW ORLEANS CROWD ABSOLUTELY **** ON THE Bootista & Borton match......

And this was THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE DIVA'S CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

Those crowd shots had nothing on Miz girl, aka Scowly.

Speaking of Miz, they should've had him rant abut not being on the PPV then storm off the panel.

Don't know what they'll do with Bryan now. Everyone wants him in the WM Main Event but he needs to get through Kane and HHH first, with no more PPVs before WM. Of course, maybe WWE can apply their usual continuity rules and forget the thing with Kane and HHH has ever happened.

He can beat Kane on RAW or even at WM itself for a shot.

Bret wrestled twice at WMX, no reason DB can't do it.

Bret did it because he had to. 20 years ago the roster wasnt up to much. Now it's massive and would be incredibly hard to justify having to have someone pull double duty unless they have a big battle royal or something on it also.

Bryan doesnt need to face Triple H. He can face Kane on Raw while Triple H can simply be on the side of both Batista and Orton.

I can see brock or daniel Challenging basista for his spot at WM or maybe both in a triple threat match

The shield and wyatt family match was the best of the night

And the look on the faces of the yae movement after Daniel got screwed again was priceless

One question remains will taker be back to put the streak on the line one last and if he does who will be the challenger

gave it a 7/10 but was very close to giving it a 6 because of the predictability and the fact that right now it's Orton vs Batista in the Main Event of Wrestlemania.

    good points:

The IC title match was much better than expected

The 6 man tag was class

    The Main Event was good*

AJ rubbing some Funk on it (to steal a term from an old not so great movie with the same name as a wrestling stable)

    Bootista chant

The fact that the commentary etc is still teasing the idea that perhaps D.Bryan could still get into the main event at Mania (or perhaps that was just me)

    Bad points:

I think everyone predicted almost the entire cards results in the prediction thread, (I got one wrong but that was D.Young vs Titus and was partially cos I thought 1 match might be a surprise)

The same can be said for the Kane interferance at the end of the main event.

apart from the 3 matches above the rest were all meh!

The bad news Barrett bits were not as effective as the WWE hoped

The WWE cutting to pretty much expressionless faces at the end of the show

gotta ask was I the only one who thought the 6 man tag was supposed to be in the chamber and an elimination match? not complaining though cos it was a very good match

  • Registered Users Posts: 28,797 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

Anyone else think the chamber makes the ring look small? There were loads of times I thought the ropes weren't very high and the top rope moves didn't have the same impact. For example when Bryan did the hurricarana on Cena from the top after Cena came in, it didn't look too effective as Cena didn;t seem to have far to fall.

I think they will add someone to it, they can't be naive enough to know that this is a feud that nobody needs to see and neither are as over as they should be in their role to main event.

If the two must square off,my idea would be to stick it in the middle of show, make it no more than 8-10 minutes and a spot fest, not ideal but preferable than watching them towards the end boring everyone to death for 20 or so minutes.

The amount of just-about-kicking-out-then-being-totally-fine last night was ridiculous.

The show itself was ok, the chamber, Shield vs Wyatts, Swagger vs Big E were all good but the other four were terrible.

Surely WWE have something else up the sleeve regarding the Mania main event, it can't be Batista/Orton, it just can't be.
