Recommendation for Break away for young Family

Looking for a break away for a few days for the Family. We just need to get away for a while. There's the Wife and I and two little lads, 4 and 2.

Looking for somewhere that will keep them entertained during the day for their age group and somewhere then in the evenings when we go back to the hotel to have some sort of kiddies area for them to play in. Really it's a get away for the two lads.

Looked up Disneyland Paris, but you'd need to remortgage the house to afford that. So somewhere in the Country if possible would be great.

    Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Trabolgan.

Couldn't agree more, I take the wife and kiddies there for a couple of weeks every year. Fantastic facilities, helpful child-friendly staff and amazing night time activities....or so I'm told, I usually just drop them (the family) off as I'm far too busy working to take a holiday.
Some day I might even try it myself!

we're just back from a weekend in Belfast . Take the kids to w5 for the day , they'll love it, (they're too young for the titanic attraction).
    can't recommend enough .

Courtown was always the number one spot when I was a kid.

Sand, shoplifting, spin the bottle and daily running gang battles with the local kids.

Look in to Center parcs in Whinfell forest in Cumbria.
Leave dublin at 8am, drive to belfast, nice ferry crossing and you can be at Whinfell for about 4pm.

The Hillgrove Hotel in Monaghan won some child friendly award recently and have great facilities for kids. A play room and playground. Also a spa and leisure centre. Day trips to the planetarium in Armagh or to enjoy the beautiful lough Erne are all easy to get to.

Monaghan has horse riding, tourist farms, a great bowling alley/jungle gym in Castleblayney and muckno park has a fantastic playground. Head to Glaslough and wander around Castle Leslie grounds or let them run loose and climb trees in Rossmoe Forest park.

There are loads of cheap/free things to do too. Only an hour and 15 mins from Dublin so less time for car sick and are we there yet.

You can now arrange working holidays for kids as young as 2. Nike and Adidas both run a sort of internship programme, where your little ankle biters will be stitching bootrunners in Bangladesh for 18 hours a day.

Something for the CV in the future, with a noticeable decline in whinging after they get home. PM me for more details.
