Can anyone tell me a good H7 bulb which is bright as traveling at night my regular bulbs are not bright and I was going to replace them.

We can rule those boy racer blue lights I just want lights which are brighter than normal. I looked at halfords today and they seemed to have all these fancy names - super btight & ultra bright ...all upto 120% brighter..but doesnt say brighter than what?

So I dont believe them..any ideas lads.

I am thinking http://www.powerbulbs.com/eu/product/philips-xtreme-vision-h7-car-headlight-bulbs what ye think?

I have those on my car, they are ok if a little on the expensive side and the light is still fairly yellow.

For half the price you can go for Osram Nightbreakers

i have them in my car too for the last few weeks. Far better than a standard bulb but next time i will go for the night breakers instead.

I get emails from micksgarage.ie every week or so, anyway they have money off Osram Nightbreakers at the moment. People seem to rate those bulbs highly. Here is the link http://www.micksgarage.com/proddetails.aspx?pid=191709

I've got nightbreakers and they're good value. Used them years in various cars.

As said nightbreakers are a good balance between cost and performance. I find them great.

    Go with the Osram.

Avoid Halfords bulbs, even if 2 for 1, as they have an apalling lifespan in my experience. I used to change one or other side every 5 or 6 months using halford bulbs

I use standard Osram H7s all the time, and they I've changed 2 bulbs in 3 years in 87,000 km of motoring in my current car. All the more impressive considering my car uses the dipped beam as DRL.

Didn't really know much about these other than some positive reviews so took a chance on them a few months ago. I'm really impressed with the light from them, massive improvement on the standard H7 bulbs. I had Nightbreakers in the past also, very good bulb but they only lasted about 9 months on me where one went within a week of the other.

Think it really should be mandatory for all drivers to understand the concept of focus, lumens and inverse square law when it comes to fitting bulbs.

What sort of a color do they give off out of curiosity?

I have Xenons but might get a pair of these for the GF's Micra (as I dont want to retro-fit a HID kit to reflectors, especially on a bug-eye Micra :P )

No difference in colour from standard but better brightness and focus of light.

thanks guys, ordered the Osram bulbs, 2 for now & 2 spares cant go wrong with €40.

    good choice.
Might be worth testing all 4 bulbs when they arrive as there is always a chance one is a dud and if your spare two arent used for a year you might not be able to bring them back
