iPhone 4s backup to P.C. removes Music

Anytime I backup my 4s, any music that I had on the phone is removed.

    Any reason for this?

I know that music isn't back-uped but it should be left alone on the phone and not removed.

Are you sure you're doing a backup and not a restore?

Defo a back-up, I even transfer updated apps from the iPhone to the apps library.

You probably have some music sync setting somewhere on your PC that tells it to remove it. What I used to do is create a playlist called iPhone and tell iTunes to sync that one playlist. That ensures that all the music on that playlist will always be there.

New iTunes (11.1.5.5) update has stopped this. Yipee.

And it's showing me what i have synced (albums). Brilliant.
