    Hi all,
The applications for intern posts open next week, and I had a few questions. If anyone could hell, that'd be great!

What hospitals pay overtime at the mo? Is it just the mater and Vincents? What about any of the hospitals outside Dublin?

Also, does anyone know what degree/GPA was needed to get in to any of the hospitals?

Rumour has it that the mater is the most sought after in Dublin and you needed at least a 2.9 to get in.

    Any info would be great!!

Hey, the application opened in November and is closed now so I'm hoping you mean you already have applied and you are waiting to see the jobs list, which is out this Friday apparently. No idea what a GPA 2.9 is, but I'm sure the Dublin hospitals will be popular as usual. It's only rumour and conjecture as to what will be most popular because, for example, if you want to do GP, a job with 3 months' GP time will be more desirable than anything in the Mater.
We have heard (only rumour again) that 80% of people get their first choice job, or one of the 4 variants of it. I think that's quite high but maybe as time goes on and people stray outside their traditional training hospital that will decrease?
I live beside the Mater and I'm not applying to it so I don't know how reliable address is either ;-)
